Car park extension at St Clair Recreation Centre
The City of Charles Sturt is extending the car park at St Clair Recreation Centre. The extension will add up to 50 parking spaces and a new entry and exit point on St Clair Avenue.
The council reports that the existing car park regularly gets congested at peak times. The extra spaces and second access point are designed to ease parking pressure, reduce queuing and make it easier to get to the centre and nearby community facilities.
What the works include
- Up to 50 new parking spaces
- A new entry and exit point on St Clair Avenue
- Speed humps inside the car park to slow vehicles and improve safety for pedestrians and drivers
- Traffic-calming measures to discourage through traffic
- Retention of established, healthy trees where possible, with additional planting once the car park is complete
Timing
Works began on 24 September 2026 and are due to be complete by February 2027. The council notes that timing is indicative and may change on site.
