Kickstart Taekwando program for children launches at St Clair Recreation Centre
St Clair Recreation Centre has introduced Kickstart Taekwondo, a new martial arts program for children aged 6 to 12.
Led by 4th Dan black belt instructor Dang Nguyen, the program introduces children to the fundamentals of taekwondo in a structured and supportive environment. Across the term, participants will develop their technique while also building confidence, discipline and resilience.
Each child will work towards earning their first yellow belt by the end of the program, giving them a clear goal and a way to recognise their progress.
Centre Manager Tristan Owen said the program gives local children another opportunity to be active, learn new skills and challenge themselves. “Taekwondo gives children a clear sense of progress they can actually see, not just feel. We’re glad to bring that to St Clair, and having an instructor of Dang’s calibre means it’s a genuinely high-quality program,”
Kickstart Taekwondo runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays at St Clair Recreation Centre, costs include a uniform, and eligible Sport Vouchers are accepted. Families can learn more and register through the St Clair Recreation Centre website, www.stclair.ymca.org.au/kids/kids-taekwondo
