St Clair Recreation Centre Nominated for National Award

Fitness Australia, the national peak industry association, has announced the St Clair Recreation Centre is a Quality Accredited Fitness Business of the Year Finalist in the 2020 Australian Fitness Awards.

CEO of Fitness Australia, Barrie Elvish, explains that the Australian Fitness Awards provide a great opportunity for businesses and individuals to be acknowledged for their contribution to the industry and the impact they have in their communities.

“Every finalist has shown incredible commitment to supporting those in their communities to live an active lifestyle, whether it is through professional development to ensure they are providing clients with safe and quality services, or creating community programs which break down barriers to participation and encourage involvement across a diverse range of different groups,” he said.

The Quality Accredited Business of the Year is the highest award available for fitness businesses. It is awarded to the Centre which receives the highest accreditation score as assessed by Improvement Foundation and endorsed by the Fitness Industry Standards Council and Fitness Australia Board.

YMCA Area Manager, Craig Hortin said that being recognised as a finalist for Business of the Year is an honour.

“We have strived to set the standard high in our first 12 months managing St Clair and the award nomination acknowledges just how well this has been done. It is credit to our staff team who are passionate about providing excellence in every aspect of the Centre’s operation,” he said.

The 2020 Australian Fitness Awards include 10 awards categories, covering emerging exercise professionals, individuals delivering exercise, businesses providing fitness services and community exercise programs.
