Transport access made easier at St Clair

St Clair Recreation Centre users now have their public transport needs at their fingertips after the installation of a Metro Kiosk at the Centre. The new unit is located in the Centre’s foyer and is available to all members and patrons.

Centre Manager, Tristan Owen, said the Y’s commitment to put its members and Centre users first was the motivation behind the initiative.

“We have 40 to 50 thousand people through the Centre each month, a lot of them young people, and we are located next to a High School. Many of these people use public transport and we saw an opportunity to provide a service to help them get to and from the Centre,” he said.

“Our Frontline Director, Damon, contacted Adelaide Metro and organised a meeting. From there it was agreed very quickly and the kiosk was installed within a month.”

“It just adds to what the Centre can and does provide for our local community. We aim to offer the best experience in leisure and recreation possible and will continue to seek ways to ensure St Clair remains a place of excellence,” said Mr Owen.

The Y manages St Clair Recreation Centre in partnership with the City of Charles Sturt Council.
