Wall to inspire at St Clair

St Clair Recreation Centre gym users have a new outlook as they work on their health and fitness, thanks to the recent addition of a new full wall mural featuring a ceiling high Y.

Local artist Jarod Soden designed and then painted the piece in one 12-hour sitting, after Centre Manager Tristan Owen and Gymnasium Director Tyler Godfrey decided that the bland and marked white internal wall needed a facelift.

After undertaking a web search for local artists, Jarod was contacted through his business, PerplSwet Designs, and quickly embraced the idea of helping provide the Woodville facility with a visual lift.

“Jarod was really enthusiastic and, as a result, we have beautified what was previously a marked dirty wall, with something that encompasses both the YMCA and also fits the St Clair community,” said Mr Owen.

“(City of Charles Sturt) Council was happy with the improvements and Jarrod did us a great deal on the project. The feedback from centre users has been overwhelmingly positive and the design has helped create a modern and positive workout space.”
